How to Play Othello
🎯 Objective
Capture more discs than your opponent by the end of the game. When the board is full or neither
player can move, the player with the most discs wins!
📋 Basic Rules
- Black moves first - Always
- Place your disc - Only on highlighted green cells (valid moves)
- Flip opponent discs - Any opponent disc between your piece and another piece of
yours gets flipped to your color
- Continuous line - Opponent discs must form an unbroken line between your discs
- All directions - Discs flip horizontally, vertically, and diagonally
✨ Valid Moves
A valid move must flip at least one opponent disc. The golden glow indicators show where you can
legally move.
🚫 No Valid Moves?
If you have no valid moves, you automatically pass and the turn goes to your
opponent. If neither player can move, the game ends.
🎮 Game Modes
- Player vs Player: You and a friend compete locally
- vs AI: Play against the computer (prioritizes corners and edges)

ends wins!
